Psalm 24 is one of a series of psalms that were sung on pilgrimages to Jerusalem where the Temple was located. This psalm is commonly thought to be one that was created after the events of 2 Samuel 6 and the bringing of the Ark of the Covenant to the Temple by David. A question that the Psalm asks is who is "fit" to gain entry into God's presence.
