The sermon examines the discrimination that arose in the Roman church as a result of an exile imposed on Roman Jews between 41 and 52 AD. In light of the discrimination that existed between Jews and Gentiles the book of Romans was written by Paul to provide instruction on how the Roman Christians should treat each other.

The Greek word Koinonia is the word Luke uses to describe the community and experience that was formed out of the Resurrection of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit.
