Highway to Holiness

This sermon is from Isaiah 35:1-10.  This text was probably written to Judah after either the Assyrian or the Babylonian invasion and all the pain it brought to Judah.  Of course, it contains overtones of the coming of the Kingdom of God as the final redemptive act of God for humanity.

This sermon comes from Isaiah 11:1-10 which concerns Isaiah's prophecy about the continuation of the rule of God's people by descendants of Jesse, the father of King David.  This is part of sermons during Advent.

This sermon comes from Isaiah 65 and is a hopeful message to Judah after returning from Babylonian captivity.

Thanks Be to God

The Sunday prior to Thanksgiving is a reminder from Psalm 98 about the need to be thankful to God for all God has done.

This sermon comes from Lamentations and talks about the function and form of Laments.  Unlike complaint, laments are the way we lay our burdens before God and ask for help.
