Keep On Keeping On

Using athletic metaphor, Paul encouraged the Philippian church and us to persevere in living a life for Christ.  This sermon comes from Philippians 3:4b-14.

The Invitation

This sermon comes from Matthew 11:28-30; Isaiah 55:1-3; and Revelation 22:16-17.  It concerns the way in which God has made clear that God is an inviter.  God welcomes the world to come into God's kingdom.  This sermon is a reminder that we, too, are meant to be inviters.

Sour Grapes

This sermon takes a look at a popular saying of the ancient Jews, namely, "The fathers have eaten sour grapes and the children's teeth are set on edge."  God's instruction to the Jews was to understand that "the soul that sins is the one that dies."  Ezekiel 18:1-4.

God Changed His Mind

Jonah is a 4-chapter "prophecy" found in the last 13 books of the Old Testament.  This sermon looks at this decidedly different book of prophecy and asks what its application is for us today.  Jonah 3:10-45:11.

Promise of Completion

This sermon comes from the Jacob narrative of Genesis.  Beginning at Genesis 12 with Abraham and continuing through Joseph and chapter 50.  This whole narrative consumes 78% of Genesis and show graphically what God did through God's promise to redeem mankind.

Before You Unfriend

Jesus' one-chapter long dissertation on relationships is the subject of this sermon, taken from Matthew 18.  It is a valuable teaching given the toxicity of a Facebook world.

Come no closer!

This sermon takes its text from Exodus 3:1-12 and is about Moses' call to free the Israelites from Egypt.  The premise of the sermon is about how God uses human agency to accomplish God's will.

Using Isaiah 56:3-8, this sermon examines the real intention of God regarding people that are normally outcast in human culture.  God said and says, "Don't disparage yourself, I intend to include you in my kingdom."
