What Really Counts
This week's sermon comes from Galatians 6:11-17 and is Paul's assertion that the Cross is central in everything for him. "...may I never boast in anything but the Cross...." The semon finishes our four-part series on the importance of the Lord's Supper.
Examine Yourselves
This the third in a series of four sermons on the subject of the Lord's Supper. The text comes from 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. In the text Paul tells the Corinthian church that they do not have a sense of community when they share the Lord's Supper together. The sermon looks at what it means to be people of "discern the body" when they participate in the Eucharist.
No Need for More Sacrifices
Hebrews 10:1-18 is the text for this week's sermon, and it takes a look at the once-for-all-time nature of Jesus death. Mankind no longer has to live under the tyranny of sin's influence and alienation from God.
The First Passover
This sermon from Exodus 12:14-27 sets the context for the Lord's Supper and talks about the importance of staying focused on the reason for the Lord's Supper's existence.
What ending would you write
Mark 16:1-8a is the setting for this week's sermon. It is Mark's record to the resurrection of Jesus, and it is far shorter and more cryptic than the other Gospel accounts. In this sermon we examine the why's of the short ending and what we would rather it have said for the sake of our respective faith. What ending would you write?
