I want what I haven’t got.
Envy is the second deadly sin in this series. Our text comes from 1 Samuel 18:5-16 where we learn about the envy that Saul had for David. Envy occurs because a distortion of pride, and it is characterized by its absolutely unloving nature.
Proud of Being Proud
Dante Alighieri, the creator of the "Divine Comedy," said that pride is the common element or theme of all the sins found in the Inferno (hell). And Pope Gregory (540-605) said that "pride is the greatest sin of all."
