They Begged Us to Leave

Posted in gospel, good news, Paul by LifeSpringChurch on April 24th, 2016

This sermon finishes a short series on the book of Acts.  Acts 16:11-40 is the text, and the subject is the way that Paul, Silas, and other church leaders were transformed by the mission that God had given to the church to move westward.  The story of courage, passion, and intention is inspiring to modern-day disciples of Jesus.

This sermon comes from John 21 and it uses the Lord's resurrections as a means by which to look at the growth of the disciples from men who often missed the point and doubted to people who were willing to go to the death for Jesus.  The sermon looks at the perplexing conversation between Jesus and Peter when Jesus asks three times if Peter loved him.

This sermon comes from Acts 5:26-32.  It looks at the early persecution of people such as Peter and John and how their boldness gave them determination to proclaim their faith in Christ as risen from the grave.  The sermon asks us to think about what a prayer for boldness today would look like and how it might change us.
